|  | Pepin, Wisconsin On February 7, 1967, Laura Elizabeth Ingalls was born to Charles and Caroline, inside the log cabin, 7 miles outside the Pepin. |
Walnut Grove, Minnesota From Wisconsin, the family moved to Chariton Co., Missouri, to Independence, Kansas, and to Walnut Grove, Minnesota in 1874.
On the Banks of Plum Creek, they lived in the dog out until Pa built a house. There are a Laura Ingalls museum with a good collection of family belongings. In a town cemetary, you'll find head stones for Calorine, Mary, Carrie, and Grace. |  | |
|  | De Smet, South Dakota In 1880, the family settled in De Smet.
In summer, the outdoor stage is set up, and you can enjoy the "LHOTP" play performed by kids in the area. |
Mansfield, Missouri Laura and Almanzo left De Smet in 1890, and moved to Spring Valley, Minnesota, to Westville, Florida, and back to De Smet. Then in 1894, they left De Smet again, and 6 days later, arrived at Mansfield.
You can visit the house they lived till they died. The town celebrates "Wilder Day" and "Rocky Ridge Day". |  | |
