The Sussex Archeological Trust often holds events in the grounds surrounding the Priory. When we visited they were holding a Celtic weekend. There were lots of *Celts* wandering round and giving demonstrations of various crafts, from bread baking, wool dyeing with plant extract, to woodwork, flint tools, and pottery. It's a great way to keep children amused and spark an interest in history.

On the site are three permanent Iron age dwellings which can be explored, they give the visitor some idea of how early Sussex settlers would have lived.

The girl giving this demonstration had her hair completely woven with colourful wool strands.
