Where is global warming when you need it?

by Redlats - last update: Jan 2, 2008

Took us 3 hours to shovel our way to the main road

January 3, 2005

Winnipeg had a major dump of snow New Year's Day 2005. That was the incentive I needed to take photos of our front yard over the next few months.
Melting in progress

March 27, 2005

By the end of March, a lot of the snow is still around, but melting. Come on spring!
What a difference a week makes

April 3, 2005

The snow is melting! Soon time to rake the lawn
Snow in May???

May 1, 2005

After a couple weeks of yard work, we are back to snow! Not much, but enough to discourage us all.
Summer

July 15, 2005

A lot greener in July.

Note the tree off to the right (the one that you can only see one branch in the spring pictures) is gone. We had a major wind storm, and half that tree was blown over, so the whole tree got removed.
Fall

September 26, 2005

Fall has started. Leaves have started to fall off the ash tree in front -- not much colour - the leaves just turn yellow or brown, and fall off the tree.
November in Winnipeg

November 16, 2005

Our first snowfall this winter. A fairly big storm dumped 15 inches of snow on us over night. Perhaps it will be a short winter.

I apologize for the dark picture. It is hard to make it home after work fast enough to take the picture during the day. If you look closely you can make out Harley who is at a bit of a loss since his hunting grounds have been covered by this white stuff.
Mid-March 2006

March 11, 2006

It has been a warm winter, but still snowing in mid-March. Here's hoping for an early spring.

Hi Lats! Just logged in after months of absence to find you as the featured member :) I'm a mum now, super busy with my 8-week-old son. We've just moved to Saskatoon. Hope all is well with you! Take care.
