Afternoon at the Indiana Dunes

I haven't figured out how to stitch photos yet so you're going to have to look at it in pieces until I figure it out.

And it's shown going from the right to the left

It's said that many of the people in the mural are relations of Leroy Neiman's, perhaps the prominent lady in the chair is his wife? Neiman would have only been in his late 30s when he painted this, she looks a bit old to be his wife, maybe it's his mother.

If you look on the 1st seam from the right in this frame, there is a man dressed in a suit and tie, perhaps that is his father?

In the panels with the umbrellas you can see the steel mills off in the distance.

In the corner of this section of the mural you can see the skyline of Chicago which you can actually see from the beach at the Indiana Dunes.

The article hanging on the wall in the bank says that the painting was done before the Hancock Building was completed and yet you can see a building very similar to the Hancock in the mural. Perhaps Mr. Nieman was a psychic as well as an artist ;-)

Maybe not though, the Hancock was probably at least proposed if not already started when the mural was done, the Hancock was completed in 1969 or 1970.
