I organized a trek through two mountain passes averaging 14,000 feet. leading into the Lares Valley. We passed through traditional Incan villages, glaciers, lakes, and many lama and alpaca herds along the way. The boy in the picture was one of the guides. It was a real challenge not to get him to smile. |
| | The climb up We climbed about 8 hours the first day through some cloud forest and then into the high alpine meadows. We passed through traditional villages where the men and women wear traditional traje and guinea pigs run freely on the floors of the houses. |
| | Woman weaving traditional traje This was a common site. Many of the men are tending to the lama and alpaca herds while the women weave clothes and stay back in the villages. |
