October 9, 2005 I am heart-broken. My Luke is gone. Sunday afternoon Luke whined to go outside and I let him out . Little did I know I would never see that sweet face again. He was hit by a car right in front of the house. Hans found him. Together yesterday we buried him alongside Kitt and Wilbur. Luke was just over a year old. Young, adventurous, curious, full of energy. Loving, gentle. He let Jack pick him up and never resisted or complained. He loved it when I got the Laser thingy out and he would chase that thing till he was pooped out - never knowing when to quit. Your buddy Furgus senses that you are not here. He looks so sad. I will miss him the most at bedtime when he would curl up right under my chin and purr away till we both fell asleep. Luke, you were a great cat. I just wish we could have got old together. I guess it wasn't meant to be. Love you. |

CUTIE KITT Kitt--May, 1985-Aug. 1,2004 Kitt came to us in May 1985. Nicole was 13 and Brian was 11. We had her for over 19 years--incredible. She was much loved and a great cat--so sweet. We will truly miss her. | | |
| | WILBUR This is my favourite picture of Wilbur. He was a Nederland dwarf and was a sweet and funny bunny. He always made me laugh when he kicked up his heels and whenever he yawned. He was very spoiled and lived to be 8 years old which isn't bad for a rabbit. But I still miss him. |

| My little "baby" -- Gizmo |
| | WELCOME ---- GIZMO On November 13, 2005, Hans and I welcomed a little bundle of energy into our home. Her name is Gizmo and she is such a sweet thing. My son Brian's neighbour's cat had a litter of kittens and he thought his Mom would want a new one. I wasn't quite ready for one as I had just lost my Luke. But little Gizmo was just what I needed. She is three months old now and such a busy little thing. Even our neighbour's cat Furgus is warming up to her. He was pining for Luke for quite a while. Furgus doesn't quite know how to handle such a little thing, but he is gentle with her even though she wants to play with his tail. So funny to watch! Stay tuned for more updates.
Update: November 2, 2009 Gizmo is now four years old. She is still such a sweet cat but very skittish, esp when someone strange comes into the house. She simply disappears and only comes out when the person leaves. She still is not so friendly with Furgus, our next-door neighbour's cat, but he just ignores her and instead heads right for her food bowl. Comical really. Furgus has also taken a fancy to my new green rocker and loves laying on it for hours. Think it's time to start charging my neighbour for room and board. @ . . @ (~ ~ ~) |
