Is it possible to miss home? We definitely travel outside of the US more than in the US. Having only been to 34 states to date, I'd say...we're saving major roadtrips to the rest of the states for parenthood and/or retirement. It's much cheaper to travel around the world now while we're still childfree and healthy enough to get movin'! :o) What I have noted is that there are US locations that may not have the history and architecture we so love (Gothic, Roman, Middle Eastern, ancient wonders) but the natural beauty of the west is a definite contender! Go and see the Grand Canyon, the Smokey Mountains, the Black Hills, the sand dunes, the Ozarks, the Badlands, the Rocky Mountains, the desert...and if you're craving cultural melting pot-like experiences then Chicago, New York, Miami, Las Vegas & Memphis should take care of ya for a while. ;^) |
