Frank Gorshin brought his broadway show, Say Goodnight Gracie * to St. Paul's Ordway Theater. It was a magnificent play based on the 100 years of George Burns life and career... mostly his love for his wife, Gracie Allen. |
| | The part of George Burns was played by Frank Gorshin, best known for his role as The Riddler on the television series, Batman & Robin.
His near perfect imitation of Geroge Burns really brought the show to life. |
| | George Burns and Gracie Allen I loved Gracie Allen and her magnificent comedic timing... there was no one like her. George Burns called her jokes, "Illogical logic." For example, when Gracie makes dinner for George, she'll put 2 roasts in the oven; a small roast and a big roast, when the small roast burns she knows the big roast is done. Or she would cut off 2 inches off his cigar so there wouldn't be anything left to throw away.*
Illogical logic!
She wasn't really daffy, she was brilliant and I truely believe that ALL female comedians owe a debt to Gracie Allen. |
