Location. Location. Location. | Latest bar to have a refit. |
The above bar was closed for about 5 years. Now it is one of the largest and best fitted bars in Nerja. It is located on Calle Mediteraneo, near to the hotel Monica.
Nerja is 52 Km East of Malaga, the nearest airport, on the Costa del Sol. It is quieter than such places like Torremolinos and Fuengirola, which are to the West of Malaga. Or Benidorm on the Costa Blanca. As such, this resort appeals to tourists who want that 'calmer holiday'. There are many excellent places to stay, eat and drink with plenty to see and do."Aaahh. When I go to the seafront and gaze lazily out to sea and catch the sunlight glinting on the friendly waves. Then I turn completely around and face the other direction and watch the clouds gently kissing the mountains all clothed in their Sunday best suits made of sunshine".© Pauldelabar As in many parts of Spain, there are lots of Fiestas, click here, Fiestas all through the year.
If you like Spain, you'll LOVE Nerja !

| | Enjoying a drink in the square Some friends of mine who both live in Nerja, Hamish and Ann, in Orange Square, (or Plaza Canterero), at the top of town. There is a lovely little bar with tables in the square where you can unwind and pass the time of day with friends |
| | Views to die for. Unless you are going to Nerja when the Fetival of San Juan is on, (June 24), then the beaches are generally not packed. Also there are plenty of little cove style beaches. Enough for everyone. |
| | Narrow streets in the old quarter. These type of streets abound in the old quarter of Nerja.
Great fun to explore and browse in the shops. Also keeps you in the cool shade in the height of the Summer heat. |
| | Another Nerja beach. Playa Salon is next to the Balcon de Europa, which is a sea viewing platform and the most Southerly feature in Nerja.
Peace and tranquility are atainable goals in Nerja. |
| | The Balcon de Europa. This is the Balcon as seen from Playa (Beach) Calahonda.
The Balcon, a viewing platform, is at street level for gazing out to sea and looking at the shoreline to either side. The Calahonda and the Salon beaches flank it. |
| | View from the Balcon. This photograph was taken from the Balcon de Europa looking down toward the little beach, (Calahonda), the reverse of the photograph above. |
| | Felizidads! Christmas and New Year in Nerja. Ever wanted to spend the festive season somewhere different for a change?
Christmas and New Year away from England is fantastic. Although not summer temperatures, it's not as cold as in England - just a fleece required to stroll on the beach. People are warm, friendly and conversational.
Get away from having to drive everywhere, noisy drunken young louts and everything closed over the holiday period. A magical experience awaits you here in Nerja.
