Piloting in the Pfalz / Germany

by MikeAtSea - last update: Aug 13, 2007

In the Tecnam P 92
One of my biggest hobbies is flying and it was a great afternoon flying a Tecnam P 92 from Speyer airport across the Rhine River to Baden. The Tecnam is an ultra light plane which is very quick to respond to once commands and very easy to fly. For me it was a bit difficult at first since I was used to much larger and more robust planes – yet the spin across the snow-white Rhine Valley was quiet stunning.
Just after take off we climbed to 2000 feet crossing the Rhine River into Baden and towards Heidelberg.

Hockenheim Ring
One of the highlights in Southern Germany is the Hockenheim Race Course which is also home to the German Grand Prix. A much nicer view from above!!
Germany is has got a very busy network of highways and federal roads. Close to the Hockenheim Ring is one of those crossing points.
