|  | Surrounding hills with Geehi mountain hut in the distance.
Geehi Hut was built of river stones which were dragged from the river bed on a sled pulled behind a cart horse. The Nankervis family built it in 1952. This and a handful of other huts in the area were used as fishing lodges and support for grazing when the High Country was leased as a summer pasture for cattle and sheep. .
. The huts are allowed to be used for shelter by visitors to the National Park. There are 3 rooms with a fireplace and the wide verandah. .
