It's snowed again in London

by Kiwigirlie - last update: Feb 25, 2005

Snow on Dollis Hill

Our carpark
This is the view from our apartment over West London. I don't get to see snow very often and it's a really novelty for me! I would love to experience a massive snow dump of 30cm or more but that's not likely to happen here!
Still it make London look so clean and crisp!
Very icy!

Gladstone Park

I have to walk through a park every morning to get to the nearest tube station. Gladstone Park isn't very big but it's a lovely way to start the day. When there's snow around it's even more special!

Dog on the run!

It was only about 7.45am and it was so dark! But I couldn't resist taking some photos to send to the folks back home. My hometown in New Zealand nevers get colder than about 7 degrees and that's rare! So it was to me snow is just special!!!
Our apartment building

Dollis Hill Research Station

Our apartment building was once the Post Office Research Station. It was where the BT "Talking Clock" was invented and Colosius. The world's first programmable computer. Colosius was the machine that was used to helped decode the enigma machines during the war. In fact underneath this building is an old WWII bunker. The bunker was code named "Paddock" and was a back up bunker for Winston Churchill and his cabinet should the White Hall bunker be destroyed. They have tours twice a year down there and it's extremely interesting and quite eerie. If interested in tours to Paddock - go to http://www.networkha.org.uk/data/network-assocation/data/bunker/html/about-bunker.html. Another interesting website is http://www.subbrit.org.uk/rsg/sites/d/dollis_hill/.
