"More dogs in my life" by pigletsmom

Mabel wanted so badly to be in this photo. My dogs like the backyard when it is warm and sunny. They can relax and rest in the sun.
It is a nice place for them, and for me.

What can I say that has not already been said?
I love her dearly.

This was Mabel at 3 months old. Boy was she cute. Loved her then, and I still love her. I found her on the street covered in graffiti. That was 7 years ago. She is sometimes a cheeky monkey, and has to be kept in line, but I love her anyway.

Hammond is half pit, half pointer. He acts like a pointer. He howls and cries when there is a thunderstorm because he thinks he will get rained on. He used be be tied up outside all day with his past owners, so now he has post traumatic stress syndrome. My other dogs look at him like he's crazy when he starts to cry because of the thunder. He gets so scared. He howls and stares up at the ceiling. I try to comfort him, but it doesn't do any good.

Ruby is my 4th dog. Any more and I'd be in violation of the city code. Anyway she was found in south central LA. She was not moving for days, just lying in the gutter. We thought she was dieing when I got her. Turned out she was just depressed. she is a perfectly healthy chow/ pomeranian mix. She is so funny. Though she is the smallest of my 4 dogs at a mere 40lbs, she does not take crap from any of them. I guess she has a true Napolean complex. When I am going to feed her, she jumps around like Mexican jumping bean. It's quite amusing and I've never seen anything like it. She literally bounces up and down and around if you can imagine that. I will try to videotape it and then post it.

Yes, I named him after the 60s television cartoon. I thought he life was an adventure much like one of the cartoon episodes. He was found tied up to a friend's porch, totally emaciated. He had been confined in a cage, and he wore down his front teeth trying to get out. He was with me for several months while he recupeated. He now lives with a loving family on Balboa Island. He goes to work with his owner every day and actually is company for hospice patients. Apparently the elderly patients love him and are happy when he is around. I loved JQ and I'm happy he is so loved and appreciated.

Riley and his sister Pinkie were found at the East Valley Animal Shelter. I bailed them out and got them into rescue groups. They are both in great homes now. Riley was originally named Ali, but I did not like that name due to the reference to the fighter. I have nothing against Mohammed Ali, but this is a pit bull, and I don't want people thinking they could fight him. So I changed his name to Riley because it sounded similar. Riley is one of the most gorgeous dogs I have ever seen. He was truly beautiful. He is as sweet as can be. He and pinkie were just two love bugs. Loved each other, people and other dogs.

Pinkie is Riley's little sister. She is with a great couple in West LA now. She shares their house with a boxer that adores her. She was like a little baby. I had never seen a dog so loving and needy. She was just the sweetest Angel. She is really the sweetest most angelic dog I have ever met. She is looking sad at the vet's office in this photo. She is a doll. Truly a little angel. I basically fell in love with her immediately.
I gave her part of a Mcdonald's hamburger, and we bonded. I don't ever do that, this was an exception. She just stared at me with those eyes, I could not say no. I wish I could have kept her, but it was not to be.
