Travel Tips

After months of worry and wait .... BerniShand and her loverly hubby Camcorderman have arrived on this side of the pond :) I just spent a wonderful evening being part of the joy and frivolity of their company. Their vow renewal was touching ...... as was the amount of love in the room and radiating from them both. I feel honored to have been allowed to participate in today's festivities - and look forward to more time with the happy couple and their entourage.

And the locals meet up again to welcome Travel Cool, also known as Drew, to the Albuquerque area! Drew just moved to a nearby community a couple of months ago and we figured we should say hello. His brother in law Jason brought him to us at China Star n Juan Tabo. I arrived with my VT luggage tag on my keyring as my VT ID. Vicki / expresso is getting married NEXT week! and AbuqRay is our unofficial goodwill ambassador :)

SFHulaGIrl posted in the local forum to meet up with local VTers while she was here for her little weekend escape. So, being the gentleman that he his, AbuqRay, offered to take her the scenic route from the airport to Santa Fe ... passing through the wonderful little town of Madrid, NM. Of course, sustenance was needed before this exploration :) I think she liked the green chile and sopapillas .. tee-hee

As a last minute thing .... and after weeks of pondering ... I decided to make a quick run up to TO for the big meet after a professional presentation in Washington DC. I am soooo glad I took the time to wander up there and visit w/ my VT buddies! Though, I was visiting w/ another VT buddy while in DC ... so I went from one VTer to a whole BUNCH of VTers :)

I went from the airport, to the restaurant - with my luggage on my back - and was warmly greeted with smiles, hugs, and FOOD! This comraderie continued into Sunday as we wandered the city, and Monday when Saucey gave me a local's tour of the subway system as I made my way out of town ..... wonderful folks, wonderful traveling .... that's what VT is.

And my hostess for my journey to Alberta hates having her picture taken ...... so I had to sneak a few in :) All hail Jojocan!!!

Brad and Daniel have made it to ABQ! They've been here an hour, we've already hit a burger joint, taken some pictures, and they are now off on an errand .... later today we'll wander Salinas Pueblo Missions National Park, and even later a little VT meet at a local hangout known as Los Cuates ..... stay tuned!

It seems that I have done more in 2005 than I had originally thought! Since I've run out of meeting pic space here on my homepage .... I've moved some around to the locations in which the meet occured.
