13 Mar 2006 at Zam Zam Restaurant, Singapore This was my first VT meet in 2006 and I enjoyed the occasion. VT members from Singapore had dinner with our overseas guests (VT members Jim_Eliason, Cielo_Algaeed and arni_ph075) at the Zam Zam Restaurant, which is famous for it's Indian food. We ate famous Indian dishes such as Chicken Bryani (chicken with fragrant rice), Roti Prata (Indian pancake with egg) Murtabak (Indian pancake with mutton, chicken or fish). After the dinner at Zam Zam, some of the VT members proceeded to the nearby Cafe Samar to chit-chat and have some light refreshments. |
24 Nov 2005 at The Last Drop Pub, St John's I was really very happy to meet up with Harj (VT member hsm) on 24 Nov 2005 at St John's, Newfoundland. We had a good chat and drink at The Last Drop pub at night followed by a visit to the famous George Street of St John's. Afterwards, Harj showed me around the city, including a drive up Signal Hill and Quidi Vidi. A very big thank you to Harj for the warm hospitality and wish him all the best! |
19 Oct 2005 at the Esplanade, Singapore A few Singapore VT members met up with VT member HannaSpanna and her boyfriend Nathan at the Gluttons Bay food centre located just beside the famous Esplanade of Singapore. The group ate delicious local food, had a good chit chat session followed by a walk to the nearby Merlion statue which is a famous landmark in Singapore. It was an enjoyable evening and I wish HannaSpanna and Nathan all the best in their one year trip which started here in Singapore. |
22 July 2005 at Cafe Samar, Singapore This VT meeting was a very special one held at the popular Cafe Samar along Baghdad Street (near to the famous Sultan Mosque of Singapore) to bid farewell to Andy (VT member leonik), who is going to Hawaii to pursue a 4 years degree course in tourism management. Everyone had a great time and we hoped Andy all the best in his studies at Hawaii, and to keep in touch with VT members in Singapore via VT of course ! |
6 May 2005 at Tiong Bahru Food Centre, Singapore This VT meeting was for some Singapore VT members to meet up with Peter (VT member loisl) who came to Singapore on a business trip. The group ate delicious local food at the famous Tiong Bahru Foode Centre followed by a drink and good chat at the Little Bali. It was really nice meeting Peter and hope we could keep in contact. |
29 Apr 2005 at Lau Pa Sat, Singapore The VT meeting at Lau Pa Sat, Singapore on 29 Apr 2005 was for some Singapore VT members to meet up with Mr Masud (VT member zazabar) and his wife before they went back to Bangladesh. The group had a good time chatting and eating delicious local food, including satay, grilled stingray, rojak, otah, fried kang kong, and not forgeting drinking Teh Tarik. |
18 Mar 2005 along Singapore River, Singapore The VT meeting in Singapore on 18 Mar 2005 at the Indochine Restaurant along the Singapore River was perhaps the best turnout in Singapore so far! We have our regular VT members from Singapore as well as VT members from USA, Canada, Australia, Holland, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan etc. It was a really enjoyable night meeting new friends and catching up with old friends, but unfortunately I had to leave immediately after the dinner due to other commitments. |
12 Feb 2005 at Clarke Quay, Singapore The VT meeting in Singapore on 12 Feb 2005 at the Coffee Conneusieur (TCC), Clarke Quay had a very good turnout of VT members from Singapore, and 2 VT members from Indonesia and friends. After the gathering and having dinner at TCC, some of us went to a nearby Indian disco followed by a late supper. |
