That I incarnated in Great Britain in a ghostly white skin is pure lottery. As I move around the world or become more aware of the VT extended family of travellers I realise how different my life could have been.

My circumstances meant I was born in a small Welsh town. Did that accident of birth define me? The Welsh people didnt think so, as my parents were English. The English saw me as 'Welsh' my upbringing and soft accent triggered 'foreigner' .

Being a foreigner has advantages, it is easier to move away from definitions of who I am. I use the terms 'Welsh' or 'English' to define myself when it suits the circumstances.

Definitions of nationality says little about me or you! I am not the combined sum of British sterotypes its politics, or religion. So who are we 'foriegners'? Boundryless? definitionless? confused? Free spirits? World Citizens? or is that more definitions!

I am, and can only be me.! In a particular environment, observing your rights and customs. Eating what you eat, dressing the way you do, ever tolerant of events, times. And extremely grateful for the circumstances that enabled me to explore the world more fully.
