On the road...
Today is 1 Oct 2004, I'm now in
Kuala Besut of Malaysia. To be more exact, I'm in the reception office of Tuna Bay Resort. We're now killing our time before heading to Tanah Merah to catch the train to S'pore tonite. Why am I here? I just completed a 6 day trip on the real heaven on earth -
Pulau Perhentian Besar this morning. Due to heavy rain, we were forced to leave the island at noon. Otherwise, we could spend several hours more with the wonderful underwater world.
Many unforgettable moments....We travelled on a high speed boat on an extremely rocky sea this morning. I was sitting in the front of the boat - really a scary ride, I was bumped up several times, I screamed and thought of Tom Hanks in Cast Away... I don't wanna be thrown into the sea.... after 45 minutes of excitement, we arrived safely in the jetty. All of us were relieved.
I was attacked by a jellyfish yesterday morning. My left hand looks like a foot of a pig right now. It hurts!!!!!!!! just hope that it's not poisonous....
We experienced a super heavy rainstorm on 29 Sept night, the wind was so strong that the beachfront restaurant was flooded. We were originally sitting in the middle of the restaurant but then all the guests sitting close to the beach moved behind us, so we were suddenly in the table closest to the sea and the storm. We experienced the strongest wind ever. I freezed badly, I guessed everyone did, the wind plus the rain together with the thunder storms, how AMAZING!
I experienced an interesting mid-autumn festival on the island on 28 Sept 2004. We got deep fried ice-cream as dessert and a surprising moon cake as a bonus~ Moreover, we chatted with the owner of the resort, it's an interesting experience.
I saw 3 big sharks at Shark Point on 28 Sept. It rained heavily when we jumped into the water. I was so cold and the current was so strong. To see sharks, we had to swim against the current. Luckily we got a nice boatman - Rudi, he guided us in the water to find sharks. He picked up lots of interesting creatures in the sea to show us. He's so nice! He also let me drive his speedboat!!!! wahaha, I wanna be a boatgirl~~ On the same day, we visited Perhentian Village on
Pulau Perhentian Kecil. We passed a kindergarten and were attracted by the kids. We watched them through the louvre windows and played with them. To our surprise, their teachers opened the door and invited us to join their lesson. We were so happy as the kids were so cute!!! A bit embarrassed as we were in our swimsuits... haha, this is the place where I first heard " I LOVE YOU ". Yeah, the first time happened here.... more to come : P
On 27 Sept, I swam with 3 huge sea turtles at Turtle Point. The feeling was so wonderful. The crawled slowly at the bottom but once they started swimming, they were very fast!!!! I tried chasing 2 of them but of course not successful in the end. I felt so happy. It's so unbelievable!!!! After seeing the turtles, I got my first chance to drive a speed boat. It's really easy but super exciting!!! I wanna thank Rudi who trusted my driving skills!!!
We also saw the most beautiful coral reefs near Perhentian Island Resort. I felt myself so small in the underwater world....
