"Return to Playa" Playa del Carmen Travelogue by paradisedreamer

Sunday 20 February

Finally we arrived in Playa, woohoo!! We all love it here. There were no taxis at the bus station so we walked to our hotel, its only 6 blocks but in the middle of the day and with our packs at their heaviest and after a long journey it wasn’t much fun but we just wanted to get to the hotel and unpack asap. Our room is perfectly good, not as nice as Casa de las Flores but for $33 who`s complaining!
We went to Chedraui (big supermarket) after we had unpacked. The shops on Quinta Ave are very expensive and we had a lot of toiletries and sun cream to buy so we saved a bomb. Sun cream that is $70 in the supermarket sells for $170 on Quinta Ave (the main shopping road in playa). We also stocked up on things for breakfast so we can make sandwiches in the room.

Tuesday 21 February

After our second day on the beach we are all nice and brown again (well Marc is black, Sam is golden and I look like I have been tangoed). Sam’s favourite barman wasn’t at the beach yesterday but he was there today and was so happy to see Sam. I was spying and saw her go to the bar and he came round to put her on her swing (yep she has her own chair). I walked past and she had an orange juice and later on I spotted her munching watermelon, the kid has talent!
She has made a new friend, a little girl from New York. We had dinner at Mannes last night and it was great to be back (the German restaurant). We went there again tonight and Suzy was also there, it was great to catch up and have some good food again. Same order every time, Goulash for us and Bratwurst for Sam! And of course free tequila!
