My brother visited Japan from the 28th of january to the 1st of February. It was a very short visit but we managed to do alot of things in the short time we had.
It was a great chance for me to re-visit some of my favourite places around Osaka.
I live at Osaka port, right next to the Aquarium, so it was a good place to start when he arrived. |

On his first full day here, we visited beautiful Nara. We had a great day wandering round Nara Park and visited all of the main shrines and temples, including Todaiji of course. The weather was unbelievably good - even though it was still January we would have been comfortable in just our t-shirts |

The next day we made an early start and went to Kyoto. We managed to see sights in the Eastern, Northern and Western suburbs. |

We visited Kiyomizudera and the area around Gion in the East , then we went North to Kinkakuji and finished our tour of Kyoto in Arashiyama in the West. Not the most relaxing of days but we really enjoyed it. |

On Monday we went snowboarding with a group of my work collegues in Shiga prefecture. The weather over the past few days had been really good for this time of year (on Saturday it was almost t-shirt weather) so we weren't expecting the snow to be that good, but it was great. |

Today (Tuesday) was my brother's final day in Japan. He was catching the Shinkansen to Yokohama at 6.30pm so we didn't want to do anything too strenuous. Wandering round Osaka Castle Park was a nice way to spend the morning. |

While he was here we tried a variety of Japanese food. Ironically it was the Korean food he liked the best, although the Osaka classic okinomiyaki came a close second! |
