Marbella, Spain My other passion besides travel is to play golf. And I love to combine them both:) This is La Quinta golf course from a golf trip to Andalucia. There are soooo many courses there. The best (and priciest) are Valderama and Sotogrande. |
Marbella, Spain This is from Marbella Country Club. So so course, but tought to walk. And it was pouring rain after the 4th hole. I was there in November 2002 |
Austin, Texas Most people go to Austin for the music and BBQ. But there are some great golf courses too. I don't remember the name of the ones I played. March was a nice time to visit, before it gets hot. |
Cooperstown, New York Cooperstown is famous for the baseball hall of fame. But they also have 2 excellent old style golf courses. By that I mean lots of trees and small undulating greens. The morning fog of Letherstocking golf course was spectacular. |
Cooperstown, New York Here is the same course several hours later, on the 18th hole. Gone is the fog, and a beautiful day is ahead, including a visit to the baseball hall of fame. |
Stockholm, Sweden On this trip in the summer of 04 I golfed in my home country for the first time. I didn't pick up the game until after I move to the US. This is Annika Sorenstam's home course just outside of Stockholm. A really nice and very walkable course. This club house has a shrine/wall of fame for Annika, including the red shoes she wore to win the Nabisco. I chipped to within 2 feet from here. Best shot all week:) |
Emmaboda, Sweden This amazing course is located in the Smaland region of Southern Sweden. A region famous for its lakes and forest. This may be the most nature experience I have ever had on a golf course. Viyah Sing has played here, and his former coach is the club pro. A MUST play course. |
Emmaboda, Sweden The morning fog off the lake was so pretty, and made you have to guess where you actually hit the ball. Notice it in the bunker he he. I lost a few balls on this round, and could not care less. |
