In November 2004, Trieste celebrated with a lot of joy the 50 anniversary of its coming back to Italia.
Italian President Ciampi went there and the airplanes Frecce Tricolori performed a wonderful spectacle.
Unfortunately, I went there some days later. Anyway, I could see the Amerigo Vespucci ship and everything decorated with Italian flags.
