One of the popular getaway spots of the residents in Ankara, Eymir Lake is about 20 km from the city center. This small lake has an area of 1km-squared, and came to existence as a result of snow-melting of Elmadað.
Even though there are many hikers & cyclists, you'll find it to be a quiet and peaceful place.
Eymir Lake is also surrounded by many restaurants, which all mainly serve fresh fish among other things. So don't hesitate to pop into one of these, after getting some fresh oxygen.
It's also possible to go fishing there. Well, I'm not sure how successful you'd be, since these friendly creatures featured in the pics were following the fishermen everywhere. Hmpf...
When bribed, they become more eager to show their gratitude ;-)

I wish to visit one day , have been 7 times to turkey, but never in ankara
I fist went to this restaurant in 1979. Each visit to Turkey includes at least one visit to this place. I am in Ankara June 19th for a wedding and will go to this place. The best in the world--Don from Atlanta Georgia

I have been going since 1979. It is the best that I have ever had. I would love to help them break into the U.S. Market. The way they spice the meat is perfect. This needs to be a priority stop should you visit Turkey. It is a slice of heaven.
Merhaba! Nice pics from Ankara. New airport is under construction, you'll like when it completed. for the restaurants: Kalbur is a fish restaurant located in Oran. Wine house is the special wine house:)
