Fortunately, this year we enjoyed the scenic splendor of winter without the truly debilitating hardships of past years. Carol's parents, Ed (age 89) and Betty (age 87), drove from Rochester, New York, as is their pleasure, with only minor adventures. My son Michael, who just left Wisconsin en-route to Seattle via Buffalo, Washington, D.C., and New Hamshire only had to shovel the walk once or twice (though he did manage to break my favorite snow brush clearing his car). Carol's oldest daughter Cynnie was able to introduce her new puppy, Stella, to the white fluffy stuff while frolicking with the older dogs in the park (Stella also was the star at every holiday get together). And, Carol's younger daughter, Elizabeth and her husband Gabe, arrived safely and more or less on time from Los Angeles. They even were able to depart after Christmas without first hand-shoveling our entire street (yes, it is true...we have actually done this...ahhh Winter in Buffalo.
Christmas Eve 2004
On December 24th Carol and I were celebrating our third wedding anniversary plus one day with precisely the same weather as three years ago. It seems as though as soon as we get our families assembled for Christmas Eve the white stuff packs in!
