What a sight! Sure you can't miss out the famous Victoria Falls! It's really spectacular, even if the water level was quite low as I were there! Must be absolutely terrific with more water! But for taking pictures it might be better with less, cause it usually is very wet in the park! They sell raincoats at the tourist shop! |
Edwardian Bridge The Edwardian bridge, build in 1905 connects Zimbabwe and Zambia! You can go Bungee Jumping here! It's pure adrenalin to jump into the narrow gorge! |
Zambezi This is the gorge where Rafting takes place! One of the best places to do it I would say!
If you are interested, Shearwater is the biggest operator! And if you survived the run, you can join the rafters in the Explorer's Pub, next to the Shearwater shop! There is always a party! |
An Evening In Zambia The evening has been nice in Zambia! |
Eastern Cataract This is the eastern cataract with a little rainbow. There is one other fall that called rainbow falls, but in 95 there wasn't enough water to make it! So this was the only rainbow we saw! |
Victoria Falls Village Well it's true, it's still a village. If you want to know which snakes are living in this country, why not visit that Snake Park at the Craft Village . In this touristic area you will find some nice tourist shops(it's a shame that you can't take it all in the plane!!!). In the evenings there are African dancing shows as well!
The Zambezi National Park is a good place for all safari freaks! When I have been there, there was a warning about lion spottings! Unfortunately I didn't saw a lion.......... |
Old baobab Near Vic' Falls there is this huge baobab, maybe the oldest in Zimbabwe! It's near the Crocodile Farm and the Game Park! |
Elephant Hills Intercontinental! This is the best hotel in town! It's quite big and really expensive. If you are lucky you can get a weekend offer for 164 US$..... They have an affordable evening buffet for everyone in one of the two restaurants.....It has been really good! The casino is fun as well! |
A Zambezi Sundowner Trip This has been a great excursion in the late sunshine. The cruises start at "A Zambezi River Lodge", as I can remember. On boat you can eat and drink and you will see some animals on the banks of the Zambezi. I have seen elephants, crocs and hippos! |
Devil's Cataract The calm Zambezi River is approaching the cliffs! This is the Devil's Cataract, the most left fall! |
Main Falls The spray of the falls rises high in the air! Up to sixty meters! |
A little rainforrest! After you have payed the entrance fee of 10 US$ you can walk through the rainforest. It can exist here because of the constant spray of the falls! A lot of baboons are living here! |
Nice views from every corner! |
Zambia Don't mind to cross the border to Zambia! Well you have to pay a few dollars, but it's worth it, cause you can walk down to the "Boiling Pot" in the gorge! Here are some baboons, they don't need a passport. Wohey, and you visit another African country! I think the border is closed during the night, so you better check before you start, so that you return right in time! |
"Boiling Pot" At high water these stones are under water, but when I have been there we could climb over to the riverside! Well it's nothing for sandales I can tell you! |
