Hillside Serenity

Jill and I spent one Springbreak at my folks house on Kentucky Lake. Jill was four or five, and I was a very young Deecat!
This photo shows us sitting on the steps that lead from the Lake to the house. There had been spring flooding that year, but while we were there, it was quite lovely. I smile when I think of those times because both my parents were young and alive; my aunts and uncles were too, and, at that moment, I had no idea how special this time really was.

Jill's First Plane Ride

When Jill and I went to Kentucky Lake, we flew a small plane (Delta) out of O'Hare to Paducah Airport where my folks picked us up.
For Jill, it was quite exciting; her first plane trip. She took her favorite doll at the time; she called the doll BamBam. The doll was so life-like that some people thought it was real!

Soaking Up the Kentucky Sun

This is a photo of my Dad (Ross) ,my Mother (Wanda), and my daughter (Jill) on my parent's pier at Kentucky Lake. They were just "hanging out" soaking up the sun.

Jill Loved the Deer Statue

Here's a photo of Jill sitting atop the Deer Statue that was in the front yard of my Aunt Bonnie's vacation home on Kentucky Lake. Her home was about four houses away from my Mom and Dad's house.
Earlier that month, there had been a flood, and the water had come up above this Statue!
That Deer Statue is still there today even though my Aunt Bonnie and my parents are no longer alive.

Taking a Ride in Dad's Fishing Boat

This photo shows Jill with my youngest brother, Dustin (Dusty), and my Dad, who was running the motor. Dustin was about 13 at the time (note the long hair, which was typical of the times).

One of Jill's Last Times at Kentucky Lake

This photo makes me smile and then shed a tear because it's one of the last times that Jill was at Kentucky Lake with both of my parents still alive. She was in college at the time, and went to Kentucky to visit her grandparents, whom she loved dearly.
