The Pont Marie bridges the Ile St. Louis and the Ile de La Cite at the Marais (4th district).
Le Louvre
The Louvre as seen from a taxi. The glass pyramid is a recognizable sight and distinguishes Paris from any other city-as much as the Eiffel Tower does.
Place de La Concorde, Dec. 2004
For New Year's Eve 2004 the city erected a giant ferris wheel on Place de La Concorde. It doesn't happen yearly so it was extra special to have been in Paris in order to experience seeing it. The fireworks show was also at Place de La Concorde for NYE 2004. Usually the show originates at the Eiffel Tower.
Le Pantheon, Dec. 2004
The Pantheon's courtyard had alot of Christmas trees decorated with silver bows.
My favorite perspective of Paris: the Ile St. Louis looking towards Notre Dame Cathedral.
Patisserie treats
You can find a patisserie on every street and all those tempting pastries are enough to make one swoon.
Rue de Buci-(not sure who the lady is)
Le Buci-a popular cafe that's situated at the rue de Buci intersection. Great for people watching...
Le Procope in St. Germain des Pres
Le Procope, on rue de l' Ancienne Comedie, is one of the oldest St. Germain cafes. Who didn't eat here over the centuries? Some of those who did eat here were Victor Hugo, Voltaire, Oscar Wilde, and even Benjamin Franklin.

im going to paris in march of 2010. Was there in 2005 but twisted ankle kept me from getting all the joys of the city. Next time try the duquense eiffel hotel.

Nice info, I recall being up the top and being amazed at the traffic chaos below

What a comprehensive page! You seem to have put all your VT energy into it ;-) I agree about the Orsay, and your tip about the Memorial des Martyrs de La Deportation is beautifully expressed
