San Cristóbal San Cristóbal Fort was built to protect San Juan from attack by sea. Along with El Morro, San Cristóbal Fort has been designated a National Historic Site and is part of a World Heritage Site.It is administered by the U.S. National Park Service. Túneles en San Cristóbal, Tunnels at San Cristóbal San Cristóbal has an extensive tunnel system designed to move men, supplies, and cannons during battles. Tunnels could also be used as mining galleries, if they were loaded with gunpowder to be able to block enemy access in a battle. El Castillo de San Cristóbal tiene un sistema de túneles diseñados para mover soldados y cañones durante las batallas.
