Time to look back for just a moment. I had only one intention this year : BEING HAPPY! and I plan to do so the next year. I managed to do that very well this year..
It becomes a lot easier if you live in a country like Belgium. A prosperous country , not in war , no natural disasters. I praise myself lucky and feel a bit powerless when I see some other parths of this world.
Even better is living in ANTWERP!. I love my city , and I'm always happy after traveling to be home. The rich cultural offer , shopping , a bit of chaos. I feel home here. Because I was a bit unhappy about my Antwerp-page I completely redone it. What I mean , a new lettertype , new lay-out , a smuck up for the text , some new pictures and 20 new tips. YES. Antwerp diserves it!. Maybe you should consider a visit yourself. 150 tips is overdone? Antwerp has so many restaurants , shops , musea that I can at least double those tips. NEXT YEAR , I promise.

INDONESIA!
My first travel of the year was to Java. Me and Frederik we were invited for a red ape congress in the 'Pusat Primata Smutzer' , one of the world leading conservation zoo's. We both are involved in saving the orang utans. An Ideal opportunity to get to know Jakarta a little better since time was so short the year before. If I liked Jakarta? Have a look on that page darling. After the BOS-meeting our journey started by takeng the plane to Yogyakarta!. A fantastic vivid city , we visited the Borobudur , a conservation center against illegal trade , yes too many things to mention. Next stop was Pangandaran , a few days in our private paradise...since there were so little tourists. It was great. I even saw one of the most beautiful things even in my life : the green canyon. Then we went to Bandung - Yeah yeah , I will build that page one day. We both got a bit sick walking the vulcano nearby. lol. Bogor was our last stop before going back to Jakarta. A botanical garden , Taman safari Indonesia...
To celebrate this fantastic journey we went for dinner with @rie (ukirsari) and it was great. It becomes a tradition to go out with @rie at the end of our Indonesia travels. lol |
VALLADOLID! Soon it was my birthday and I didn't managed to get a week free. So it was just a weekend. I choose for Spain , Valladolid. I didn't knew a thing about this city and there are still little pages available on this destination.It was nice to have the feeling that you we were going to discover it all for ourself.And we had a fantastic time. Great food , great atmosphere , we found some very nice musea...We ven found a beach. lol yes , we had an excellent time in Valladolid! |
ROME! ROME we failed to get there once before. There was so much fog that planes could not land or leave the airport. Whatever!. This time we got there. We had a fantastic time. Yes , we promised ourselves to do it slowly , but after a week we were really exhausted. It is such an overwhelming city. A bit buzy , maybe. If there is one page where I put a lot of effort in , it must be this one. It took me ages. And I oved building it. Have a walk trough history with me! |
FRANCE! Our most relaxed week I guess. I love France. Driving around in the car...stop where we want to , put up our little iglo tent. We stopped the first time in 'Meung-sur-Loire'. I love 'La Loire'. The most beautiful river in the world. Visited Orleans and a fantastic castle. From there we went to Le Guerno. My favorite village in the world , visited that fantastic castle zoo , branféré once more..You should have a look at the travelogues. The we went to saint-malo where we took the boat to Jersey!. You know that little island. I was dying to see the zoo of Gerard Durell. It was always a dream of mine to see it. Last days of that trip we spend in a little village near Amiens..
Yes we did all that in less then a week. lol. We came home relaxed and happy and 7 bottles of excellent apple cider. I hope to go back to france next year for a camping trip a bit longer. |
ITALY! Italy again? Why not. After camping in France we decided to take our tent and head for Italy. When I told a new friend on Vt we were going to Italy , she said 'Let's meet!'. We , B-free , Barbaraforza and Belgianchocolate had a great time in VENICE!. Barbara is a real Italian stylish lady accompanied by Elisa , we strolled down the streets. I haven't build much pages on France or Italy...and I did see so many special things. We stayed near lake COMO , lake GARDA , visited Mantova , Brescia , Castelfanco , Castella ....The last two days of that week we stayed in BERGAMO which is a fantastic city. And I build about zero pages about all these destinations. Maybe later. ;-) |
BUDAPEST! After visiting Budapest I had the feeling that I had to tell the world about this city.I love Budapest and I enjoyed it a lot. I loved writing about this city. I've written the tips in order that we did all those things and if I read it myself it seems like we have done nothing but eating , eathing , and sniffing up culture . And that's what it is all about , I guess. This city now really has a special place in my heart. I think I could life there. Don't know why. I felt so me wandering in Budapest.

VALENCIA! Yes , already november , our last trip of the year. 6 nights in Valencia was a bit long. But we didn't got too bored. It is a lovely old city and the amazing architecture by Calatrava is simply amazing. We spend a whole day in the marine parc. It must be one of the most amazing in the world. I got a last bottle of aqua de Valencia saved for new years eve. A fantastic way to say goodbey to the old year and welcome the new one is filling it with good memories.
