Jewish Memorial on Grosse Hamburgerstrasse

An angel lends a beatific presence at a gravesite in the Französische Friedhof - the French Cemetery - in "old Berlin," just off Chauseestrasse.

This beautiful memorial is in the Dorotheenstädtischer Cemetery. It's for August Borsig (1804-1854), founder of a famous company which manufactured locomotives in the 19th century. The Borsigs were one of the great industrial dynasties of the Hohenzollern era.
Heinrich Mann (1871-1950) was the younger brother of Nobel Prize winner German author Thomas Mann. In his lifetime, Heinrich was a vastly popular author himself. He is best remembered today for "The Blue Angel," adapted for the screen as a vehicle for the sultry Marlene Dietrich.
These children were climbing on the Neptune Fountain when they let me know that they would like to have their picture taken: "photo, photo!" they cried.

Children and sculpture: I think they go well together.
A cupid, sitting at Neptune's feet, from the Neptune Fountain. It's on the east bank of the Spree, just in front of the Fernsehturm TV tower.
