This courtyard was probably the most beautiful of all at Alhambra. The pools had springs of water sprouting in the air, creating a lovely scene and sound. The greenery against the Spanish style buildings were quite striking as well.
The inner walls of the Nasrid Palace are breathtaking. The walls are covered with inscriptions in arabic - everywhere there is writing, designs, and shapes carved into the walls and ceilings and then painted in shades of red, silver, and blue.
This inscription I have been told means "Allah" in arabic? In any case, the carvings are just gorgeous and all throughout the Palace.
The gardens were wonderfully landscaped and architected - a mixture of hedges, greenery, flowers, pools, and fountains.
This courtyard - one of many - was quite lovely, especially due to the beautiful emerald color of the water in the pool. Very serene.
This area was a sort of back garden, away from the larger tourist areas. It seemed a maze of fountains, hedges, and brick pathways. The shade was also nice during the 100 degree day!
These windows were magnificent in that they were only open through carvings of the stone. The star and geometric shapes were lovely.
The white-washed houses of Granada nestled against the mountains are seen from one of the windows of the Palace.

I hope you can see one day the origins of all this magic ! ;) Greetings from Morocco :)
The pics of Alhambra reminds me of High School. I graduated from Alhambra H.S., in Alhambra, California! And Granada Park was nearby.
a real must for a traveller, wonderful page
It seems that one should make this place one of the top 10 because of the sangria :) Oh, that the palace is indeed a gem of unsurpassed loveliness is a nice bonus :)
