The capital a small city with 1.2 million people here, I'm one of them, and my contribution to the growth of the population is only one daugther, so that means I'm not responsible for much here.
The pic was taken by my father in 1958, many things have happened in all this years, the city has changed a lot. see other pics below.

The city was originated as a setllement of silver miners.

History is writtten in every wall, building and street, just like any other place in the world, modern buildings, and colonial architecture, beautifull churches with gold covered statues and images inside.
many contrast too, poor people and rich people, all them (us) living in the old part of the city and in the mountais around it.

The weather is good almost year round. 22 25 celsius, in summer it reaches the 32 C. Rainy season goes from may to october. June and july migth be the best time to see the city becouse it's like a green garden due to the rain, In summer time it doesn't look so nice, everything in thois city is dry and hot, but you can enjoy the atlantic coast and the pacific coas and its great beaches!

Three new Hotels in town, the Marriot, the Clarion and the Camino Real Inter -Continental seen from far away. They where build in the past few years and they are located in a new comercial area of the city.

A closer look at the lates hotel, the Marriot. It has a bar named NAPOC, witch means COPAN just writen backwards (the name of the ancient Mayan city ) And there is a Karaoke Nigth so everybody can go there and sing, they have a surprise for the best singer, it's a weekend at the Hotel for two with everything included FOR FREE!

Moderm apartament buildings are a real show of diferente types of achitecture. This go from small to huge buildings and they are changing the shape of the capital.
