HERSTORY . . .

. . . . .in the making. . .

The idea for "The Sisterhood of Monks ©" came to me one night while I lay in bed contemplating the ending of a relationship.
I was in a place in my mind and heart where I felt it might be best to give up men altogether, go it alone...become a monk!
Then I thought, "I wonder if there are other women out there who have gone through,
or are going through the same things as I am?"
I was certain there must be!
Then I got this "message from the universe"...
Make a place for yourself and others and call it
"The Sisterhood of Monks".
A safe, supportive place where women can get together (albeit in virtual space to begin with) to discuss anything that is dear to their hearts and important in their lives...especially where relationships were concerned.
The next morning I posted my invitation to my "sisters" out there to join...
"The Sisterhood of Monks".
The response was overwhelming ...to put it mildly!
Something was unleashed and what followed was a series of at least three postings of "Sisterhood Gatherings" where the replies were in the hundreds and up to a thousand plus!
We broke all records on VT for the longest Forum threads ever!!

What follows is a small portion of the contributions made by the Sisterhood that I managed to record.

HER HOLINESS THE DOLLY LLAMA

Every so often the Sisterhood is surprised by a visit from our Spiritual Leader the Most Holy 'Dolly Llama'.
When Her Holiness comes to town, we are always blessed with her nuggets of wisdom...along with a few other nuggets...but we won't go into that.
At the last gathering, as the Sisters lay luxuriously and contentedly amongst piles of silk cushions, sipping champagne (Cristal, of course!), and munching on fine Viennese pastries, our Dolly Llama, while in deep trance, bestowed upon us the following "Words of Wisdom":

Pink duct tape is like the Force. It has a dark side, it has a light side, and it holds the Sisterhood together.

Behind every successful man is a surprised woman.

In the begining there was nothing and God said 'Let there be light', and there was still nothing but everybody could see it.

When choosing between two evils, I always like
to try the one I've never tried before.

The trouble with resisting temptation is
it may never come your way again.

There is a coherent plan in the universe,
though I don't know what it's a plan for.

Learn from the mistakes of others - you can't live long enough to make them all yourself.

Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

The Dolly Llama then felt an urge (the Force?) and decided to go on retreat in the mountains. (I think she basically had had enough of us by then) She promised to return with even more of her
'Golden Nuggets'.

Ohmmmmm.............

Due to the popularity of our 'Sisterhood of Monks'
...mostly by the men for some strange reason (???), there will be a
Men's Chapter created to accommodate the
specific needs of the male population.

I am pleased to announce that Roberto of Rome aka ARoman will be the HEAD BRO of this illustrious group
....and maybe then the women can be left, at last,
to meet in peace 'sans' the men crashing our parties...errrr...I mean gatherings.

I think Roberto is the ideal one to head this chapter!
Living so close to the Vatican will allow him and his BROS to be influenced in a most divine and heavenly manner (I think?).
