The story of the giant and his daughter Alba Iulia means White Julia. Of course i asked why it was called Alba Iulia. Apparently there is no very good explanation (maybe i should dig deeper) but there is a legend. The legend of the giant and his daughther
Apparently the giant and his daughter were heading through the mountains when they were caught up in a very thick fog. They lost each other. The giant called his daughter: Iulia Iulia. The daughter called her father Balb. But due to the echo the people that where also caught in the mist heard her father call her Iulia. And when she called her dad, they heard B Albb Albb alba alba.. They decided to call their settlement Alba Iulia. |
