You can get a great view of the Strip from New York New York. From here you can see all the way down to the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel and Casino.

Paris by Night

The Eiffel Tower looked stunning with its night lights on.

Spiral Bound Palm Trees

Outside of the Stratosphere, there was this stand of tall palm trees, all carefully wrapped in bright white lights.

Fremont Street Experience

In Downtown Las Vegas, many of the older neon signs have been preserved and are on display on Fremont Street. The street has also been closed to vehicles and covered with a giant steel canopy.

Fremont Light Show

This is a photo of the evening light show that appears every hour on the hour after dusk and lasts for about 7 minutes. This particular show was about little green men invading Las Vegas. The animated program is projected onto the huge steel canopy that covers the entire block of the Fremont pedestrian mall. Loud music accompanies the show, and it was quite impressive.

The Plaza Hotel

This hotel is located in Downtown Las Vegas on Main Street at the intersection with Fremont Street. It was built in 1971 and retains that groovy 70's vibe.

Binion's Horseshoe

For many years this casino was the landmark in Las Vegas. It is said that the legendary Benny Binion arrived in Las Vegas in 1946 wearing a ten gallon hat and carrying a suitcase filled with two million dollars in cash. Today Binion's is the home of the annual World Series of Poker in which the winner takes home 1.5 million dollars.

The Stratosphere

For a great bird's eye view of the Strip at night, take a ride up to the Observation Platform at the Stratosphere. Here you will have 360 degree views 900 feet above Las Vegas. The ride up will cost you $9.

Enjoyed all your tips about LV; had to return to find out where you stayed! It's a fun place and you are right about spending $$; places to stay and meals can be cheaper here than almost anywhere else.

I didn't see that you went to Vegas! Wasn't it awesome? We hope to go next year, as I didn't get a chance to see Fremont street. And the shopping... :o) Great tips and pictures, I like to save money too. ~ Helen

WOW! I love the Las Vegas at night pictures. It really is a fascinating city. You saw quite a bit in two days. Fremont is a definite must see. Leaving Friday for Biloxi Mississippi. Hugs. Lori.
