Scenes of Paris

The Champs Elysees from the Arc de Triomphe
1. Contrary to what was rumored in the past, the people of Paris were friendly and outgoing. We rented an apartment and the other residents didn't hesitate to say bonjour to us all the time. Merci Paris!
2. Many French people are speaking English. I doesn't seem like it's too much of a problem most of the time.
Hmm, can't seem to remember where this was...

3. Even though the above is true, learn some rudimentary French. Buy a phrase book and learn the things you'll need for dining, shopping, etc. People will say "excuse moi" or "pardon" to you if they need to get by you on a crowded metro, wouldn't you want to be just as courteous?
4. You'll be able to use the ATMs and your credit card most of the time so don't bother bringing very much US dollar currency or travelers checks. You'll get ripped off by the currency exchangers.
Montmartre
Esmerelda!
5. If you're traveling during possible chilly seasons, bring a scarf, hat, gloves and umbrella. Wear layers so you can take stuff off in case the restaurant, store, subway gets too hot.
6. Watch out for the dog poop.

7. Don't talk to the beggers.
8. Go to Paris!

Randy, wow, nice Parisian scenes. The Pont Alexandre is the most beautiful bridge in Paris-excellent choice. Really-still have alot of dog poop? I didn't notice any in February. :)
