WELCOMET O THE SAN DIEGO ZOO'S WILD ANIMAL PARK
As part of the Zoological Society of San Diego, which also operates the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park is dedicated to the preservation and display of endagered species. All food and merchandise purchases today help support our efforts to save endagered species and their habitats.
DINING SERVICES
The San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park is committeed to providing a wide spectrum of choices. Pick from a high-quality All American or international fare, snacks and healthy alternatives.
LORIKEET LANDING
Exhibit entrance is free. Lorikeet food is available for purchase to experience the thrill of hand feeing rainbow lorikeets (H15)
10:00AM to 4:15PM
WGASA BUSH LINE RAILWAY
Thie one-hour, five-mile experience, included with Park admission, will take you through Africa and Asia to see animals as you have never seen them before, in expansive, naturalistic enclosures. Last train leaves daily at 4PM. (H7) For animal health and safety, food, beverages, and smoking are not permitted on the railway.
ZOOWERKS-THE RIDE
Hang on tight for "Haunted Mine Ride 3D" as your mine car races through dark and spooky caverns. Films subject to change without notice. Ticket required. 11AM to 5PM (I12)
HEART OF AFRICA
Exotic African plants and animals, floating footbridges, panoramic overlooks (I19)
GIRAFFE FEEDING
Feeding these shy, gentle giants can be the highlight of your day. Giraffe food is available for purchase. 10AM to 3PM or as appetites dictate. (N22)
CONDOR RIDGE
A journey of breath-taking views featuring the California condor and North American Wildlife. (M5)
PETTING KRAAL
10AM to 4:45PM (H12)
ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS
Up-close visits with animals and their trainers. Check the map legend for locations and times.
HAWK TALK
Bring your camera so you can capture on film a variety of hawks and other raptors just inches away! 12:30PM to 2:30PM (F16)

KILIMANJARO SAFARI WALK
Take a wild walking safari along 1 3/4 miles of photo opportunities to see elephants, rhinos, and many other exotic animals. The backcountry portion of the Safari Walk closes at 4:30PM. For safety reasons, smoking is prohibited in the backcountry portion of the Safari Walk.
KUPANDA FALLS BOTANICAL GARDENS
Stroll 1 1/4 miles through Protea, Baja, Native Plant, Epiphyllum, Conifer, Old World Succulent, and Bonsai gardens. Gardens close at 4:30PM (L3) For safety reasons, smoking is prohibited in all areas of the Botanical Gardens.
THE HIDDEN JUNGLE
Greenhouse exhibit of neotropical birds and tropical plants. Closes at dusk (G15)
Experience the time of your life on one of our Photo Caravan Safaris. Our trucks take you into the heart of the large animal enclosures. Because of their popularity, daily tours run year-round (weather and road conditions permitting). Stop by Guest Relations or the Administration Building for a brochue, call (619) 718-3000 for information, or visit the Web site at http://photocaravans.wildanimalpark.org. Gift certificates are available. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged. Snapshot Caravans are available on a daily basis. You may check for availability on the day of a tour at Guest Relations or Park Administration. Participants must be 8 years or older. Children 8-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
CONSERVATION Education Programs
The Wild Animal Park's education department offers guided tours, teacher workshops, curriculum materials, and outreach programs that visit classrooms and school auditoriums. Connect your students with the wonders of wildlife by participating in a school education program. To learn more about the programs and resources we offer to schools, visit the Teacher's Lounge section of our Web site, www.sandiegozoo.org.
For an insider's look at the Park, take a "Closer Look" tour. These two-hour adventures provide an up-close animal encounter, a visit to a behind-the-scenes area, and a chance to talk with a keeper about the animals in their care. These speical tours give adults and older children an exclusive view of the Wild Animal Park's wildlife. Program participants must be 12 years or older. Children 12-17 must be accompanied by an adult. To learn more, call the Education Department at (760) 738-5057, or check our Web site at www.wildanimalpark.org.
*Guests with disabilities, please refer to the disabled information packet for seating availability and general information.
*For safety reasons, strollers must be parked outside show amphitheaters.
*Schedules may vary of be canceled due to weather or animal health needs. Listen for public address announcements.
*Shirts and shoes must be worn in the Park during your visit.
*No pets, open-speaker radios, or portable PA systems are allowed on Park grounds.
GUESTS WITH DIABILITIES
An informationi packet is available at all ticket windows, shows, and the railway loading dock. A companion restroom is available across from the Administrationi Building. A TDD phone is located in the Administration Building.

PARK RANGERS
First aid, public transportation information, lost and found, and check cashing (with identification) are located in the Administration Building (G6)

Zoological Society of San Diego memberships are available at Guest Relations 9AM to 5PM, or call (619) 342-0251. (B9)
LOCKERS
Large and small rental lockers are available on first-come, first-served basis, just inside the main entrance. (C9)
RE-ENTRY
Hand stamp for same-day return available at Park exit. (C9)
RENTALS
Binoculars, strollers, wheelchairs, and motorized wheelchairs (scooters) are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 9AM at Jambo Outfitters, just inside the entrance (C9)
ROAD & SNORE
Make your reservations now for 2005 to camp overnight at the Wild Animal Park. Camp-overs take place from April through October on Friday, Saturday, and some Sunday nights. Gift certificates are great for holiday giving! Information brochures are available at the Administration Building and Guest Relations, or by calling (619) 718-3000. Children ages 4-17 must be accompanied by an adult. Other restrictions may apply to specific nights.

The Zoo and the Park are great places to host company picnics and private parties with a wide range of facilities, including the Park's new Hunte Nairobi Pavilion. Smoking is prohibited in all buildings, within 20 feet of building entrances, in show amphitheaters, on the Wgasa Bush Line Railway, the backcountry portions of the Kilimanjaro Safarai Walk, all areas of the Botanical Gardens, and other designated areas.
