The Golden Ladies At Last! Southern Tanzania is getting very HOT now. These Ladies were gasping for air. They look strong and content. I had the luck of having these Lions all alone after about 15mins. One car, just left. Don't know why. The other car had a little boy in there. Complaining about wanting to go. Good thing, he was starting to be a pain the butt! Getting too loud ect. So, they finally left. Some times you get lucky not having any one around. The Lady on the left. Had a wound on her shoulder. A necklace of tics, and pregnant! Tics like this, will kill a weak animal. But she should be ok. The one on the right had a surface wound on the inside of one her legs. Lions have a tough life! |
| | This Is My Best Side! It's funny to see these BIG CATS do the same thing as house cats. There is no fur ball meds. So, I wonder what they do to get rid of that problem. |
| | No Big Males Around These were the only Lions we saw those 3 days. This one suddenly looked right. Maybe wanting to hunt? Too hot though. Maybe looking for the MAN of the house. |
| | A Last Look and Say Goodbye! We had to come back to say GOOD-BYE! By then the shade moved off the road. They just followed the shade. We didn't stay long. I have this thing about disturbing the animals. When it's this hot. We already spent a lot time with them. So, no need to bug them much more. |
| | Show Respect and Admiration Need to say nothing more. |

sachara Sat Nov 12, 2005 19:14 UTC Fantastic pictures of the lions and African skies !!! | Geisha_Girl Sat Jul 9, 2005 01:05 UTC Yes, I preferred Tuskers over the Kilimanjaro brand. When I asked for a "Leffe Blond" at a bar in Moshi, the man looked at me like I was a crazy mzungu! You can be my FIRST customer when I open that hot dog & crepes stand in Zanzibar, D! ;-))) | Krumel Thu Dec 23, 2004 15:41 UTC Absolutely stunning pics again, David. Love the lion photos! | jamiesno Sun Dec 19, 2004 15:51 UTC More amazing shots here on this page. There is something spooky I bet about being in Africia when that sun finally sets. I would want to be well secured here out in the wild, LOL. :-) |
