''A mini VT meeting in Shanghai (May 2004)''

In a cosy yet expensive tea room in Shanghai I met this lovely girl, Christina. Although we had only spoken on the phone once, and emailed though VT a few times, once we got talking I really felt as if I'd known her for a long time.

A very easy going and giggly girl, and someone who I hope to remain friends with for a long time.

"A slightly bigger VT meeting in Shanghai (July 2004)"

Again I managed to fit in some time around my recent filming in Shanghai, to meet up with Christina again! This time we went out in the evening to a bar in the middle of a park called, believe it or not PARK 97! An incredibly expensive place with incredibly rich people drinking in it....apart from our wee selves! You pay 50yuan to get in....about 3.50pounds (usually I refuse to pay entrance fee especially if it doesn't include a drink!), and then the ONE drink I had cost 54yuan!!! A G&T cost 50yuan and the tonic 4yuan! I could NOT believe these prices! But the main point was that I was with Christina catching up and it was GREAT fun! The other two girls were friends of mine who were visiting at the time, Rachel and Laura.

"My most recent and fun meeting in Beijing (August 2004)"

Doug from Sydney came to Beijing last week for a week of frivolity....but what he got instead was ME!! Sorry about that Doug! We met up on three occasions, two for lunch and dinner consisting of spicy snails and chewy chicken feet and one on his last day for a coffee and a goodbye! He's everything I imagined him to be, and I had a good time talking to him and learning some things along the way! My next travel stop just HAS to Australia now....

His VT name is aussiedoug.

By the way, we didn't REALLY eat those dishes! Give it a week or so and I'm sure you'll see on Doug's pages exactly what we ate!

" And here we are again, out and about having fun meeting my latest VT friend, Oli (December 2004).

'Backpackerbaby' lives in Hong Kong on the Kowloon side so of course knew JUST the place that she had to take Charles and I for dinner! We learnt throughout the evening that this is where she and her boyfriend mostly bring their friends (first timers to Hk) to dinner. This is solely because it is an AMAZING place to be brought to! You have the true Chinese nightlife atmosphere surrounding you and its wonderful! I have been to HK around 5 times since 1998 and although I love going there I have never really experienced the insider things to do or places to go. So meeting up with Oli was great! And I look forward to any other adventures I have down there where we will be able to meet up together again. I have included in my HK page where we went and what we ate etc etc...

This was organised by Rina(RinaNeo) and included Mei(FreeCloud), Bok(muddybok), Janice(SEESEA), Cathy(CathyLi), honorary member Jeff and myself(sugarpuff). It was my first larger VT meet and it was fun.We found a restaurant selling a free spicy fish dish as it had just opened and it had this promotion going. We had a good meal there and like Rina mentioned on her page..it was very cheap for the six of us, costing us around 20RMB each! I hope to see these people again whether back in China, or maybe if I ever go to their countries for a holiday!

This was a very quickly organized meeting between Jock (roongrot99), May Su(maysue) and myself(sugarpuff). My boyfriend Charles (foxchx) came along that time too. We met in Wangfujing and quickly went into the shopping mall to a Chinese restaurant there as Jock had limited time. It was nice though. I have been in contact with May for quite a while now but our schedules never co-incided, until this night. And Jock was paying a fleeting visit to Beijing, so we decided to make the time! It was a quiet but nice affair!
