Here are a few pics from around Geelong. |
| | Some unusual sculptures - are they shark fins or yachts sailing in the bay? The bay is called Corio Bay and you can see the You Yangs in the distance. |
This is a eucalyptus tree - predominant in Australia, koalas favour these trees and their leaves (koalas actually get high on eucalytpus leaves!)
| | I love this artwork, Geelong is embracing many different kinds of art (like paintings and sculptures) into the face of the city and I think we're looking pretty damn good (although some areas of the city are still in 'renovation' stages). |
This is the waterfront and its beautiful green lawns and palm trees, with the restored carousel on the edge of the bay.
| | This is our town hall... I have lived in Geelong all my life, but it was only when I did a school project on Geelong when I was 16-17 that I actually found out that we even had a town hall and that this was it. |
This is more of the artwork mentioned above. Both of these 'pieces' of Art can be found along Union St - a small street that links the Mall to Ryrie St (where Village Cinemas is).
| | Geelong has some beautiful sunsets. Here the sun sets over the hills and in summer especially it is common to see bright orange skies (brighter than in this photo), or pink and purple skies at sunset. |
