I don't bother to write much about these things. That is because there are so much info and very many have heard a lot of them before. So instead of write about them on Must See Activity Tip, I have gathered them in this album. I have also added a little facts to every picture. This is just short sentences with info which are relevant. By the way, alle pictures are taken by me on my longweekend trip to London/Birmingham in February 2004.

- The deck is raised on average 500 times a year - Tower Bridge took 8 years to build and was completed in 1894. - The deck was raised 655 times during the first month of opening. - It is estimated that 38 000 road vehicles use the bridge each day. |

- The London Eye is the world's highest observation wheel. - It takes you on a 30 minute flight, rising to 135 meters above the river Thames, in 32 hightech fully enclosed capsules. - It is the capital's fourth-tallest structure. |

- It was built in 1703 - George III liked the palace so much that he bought it, and English kings and queens have lived in it ever since. - Buckinham Palace is attended night and day by special troops of the British Army. |

- Piccadilly takes it name from a 17th century frilly collar called a picadil. A dressmaker grew rich making them and built a house in the vicinity - The statue of Eros in Piccadilly Circus was originally called the Shaftesbury Monument, having been erected as a memorial to the philanthropist Lord Shaftesbury. - The actual figure rises above a fountain, which is made in bronze, but Eros is made out of aluminum, at that time a rare and novel material. |

- Big Ben is named after Sir Benjamin Hall, the First Commissioner of Works. - It was completed between 1858-59. - The light above the clock is lit while the Commons is sitting. - Ben weighs over 13 tons. |

- Marble Arch was designed by John Nash in 1828. - It was built as the mainentrance to Buckingham Palace. - It was moved to it's current place in 1851. |
