Some lists

by woef - last update: Apr 7, 2008

China

(My) 5 most occuring travel diseases.

1. Mosquitos bite or other vermin

U can use some repelant to prevent this. But the ones that are affective also kill pets and small children. Or they make the rare white gorilla incredible horny... and than you meet one.

2. Hangover

Imagine that your head is empty. On the inside of your head, against the ceiling, you have a string with a metal ball at the end. Each time you move your head, the ball hits against the side. That's the feeling you get when you try the drinking competition with the local liquor. But at the end you should be happy that the stuff did not make you blind.

3. Sunburn

When you lie on the beach and the passing Japanese tourists are wondering out load how you taste? That 's the moment that your lobster color has become a bit too intense.
France

4. Blisters

Those new, 250 Euro, walking shoes (bought in a specialised shop, where they measured your feet by laser, to sell you the perfect pair) Those shoes, they give you sore, 40 steps from the airplane and blisters before you reach the airport exit. The rest of the trip you walk around with 50 cent Chinese shoes, bought in the local shop ... without any problem. Unless the blister gets infected by that visual clean ocean of course. I have seen a German guy in the plain from Manila with a shoe size +/- 60 (+/- 20 1/2).... or so. Gangreen?

5. Dehli Dunne / the trots / Bali Belly / Montezuma's Revenge / Looseness of the bowels / turista / Flying Dire Straits / Calcutta Craps / Madras mile / Bangalore Bottom

Experiment with local food the day before you go home. It can make your 12 hour flight, let's say,... less boring. For you and some other passengers when you managed to get that perfect window seat.

If somebody knows a better word for it, you can always let me know. :-)
If you worry about these diseases ... one remedy ... stay at home. ;-D
South-Korea

My 5 last birthday places

Becoming :
1. 30 years : Jiashan (China)
Fun rating: 95%
2. 29 years : Nagoya (Japan)
Fun rating: 21%
3. 28 years : Dusseldorf (Germany)
Fun rating: 3%
4. 27 years : Tokyo (Japan)
Fun rating: 84%
5. 26 years : Pontefract (England)
Fun rating: 45%

The fun rating percentage has not much to do with the city or town I was, but everything with how I had to spend my birthday.
Italy
