As you can see Sliema is very big and crammed as there are loads of shopping arcades, shops, cafeterias, houses and restaurants.
It has become really difficult to visit the shops on account of the parking problem. |

The chalet once as it used to be ! The chalet was a protruding building at the edge of the Sliema promenade. When my parents where young they used to go dancing here - it must have been a very nice place to chill out and dance and socialise. Today its just a useless piece of building. In Winter, the sea is so rough at this point that the waves keep pouring over and hitting against this building fiercefully. It's not advisable to swim between Sliema pitch and the Chalet because there are whirlpools and in the past people have drowned there !
Today, the chalet sadly has been removed ! I have no idea what they are going to build instead maybe another modern chalet - who knows ! | | |

holiday in malta, you must go to sliema walk up through the promenade visit the duck village , talk to joe duck he tends all the ducks , pigeons, chickens , on his island all done volentarily, please support him he does a great job many thanks | gonroamin2 Tue Sep 11, 2007 19:10 UTC
