Travel Tips

For my brother Frank and his girlfriend's Marjorie's first trip to the US, Chicago decided to welcome them with one of its familiar winter faces: cold, snowy and gloomy. We had one good day and took the opportunity to go to Lincoln Park and the zoo. It was magical in fact as the zoo was deserted. The seals and polar bear particularly seemed to enjoy themselves! Frank loved it, Marjorie's comment to my brother at the end of her stay was: "Next time, you're on your own!" ;o)

What can I say? I'm just a beach bum. I love the sea, I love sand, I love the sun warming up my skin... The sea has always a calming effect on me and when I just need to take a break... that's where I'm going (at least in spirit). I even took up body-surfing when I was on vacation on the gulf coast... Just a little warm up before I try real surfing!

In June 2000, I decided to hold a little Belgian part at our appartment in Rome for the kick-off of the European Football Cup. My first try at cooking mussels! It was good, no one got sick and lots of beers and wine was consummed as can be testified here with Esther and Reija
