9. MEETING: May 29, 2004 in Kyoto / Japan

The second meeting on my Asia trip was in Kyoto.

Here we spend a very nice day together...
Ayurin did a great job. She had the wonderful idea to have lunch together, to visit the Fushimi-Inari shrine and see the nice panorama view from the skywalk at Kyoto station.

After that we made a short visit at the culinary shop in the department store Isetan at Kyoto Station. Ayurin, Hiroyuki, Eiji and Michiko showed us the large variety of sweets and other interesting food. At last we had several presents for people at home :-)))

Then we went to a sashimi restaurant - Eiji and Michiko recommended - in the center of Kyoto. The evening was fantastic and we are so happy that Ayurin, Hiroyuki, Eiji and Michiko again introduced us in their culinary specialties. It is always nice to meet local people to get experience with local things.

10. MEETING: September 11, 2004 in Essen / Germany

One meeting was at September 11, 2004 in my hometown Essen again. It was a short meeting just for lunch and a little walk at the river "Ruhr", but we had a nice time...

I met Jen (jenniferchin) from KL in Malaysia last May and in September 2004 she travelled through Europe. On her way from Hannover to Utrecht she and Holger (chancay) came over to spend me a visit in Essen. Good to meet people again once in a while.

11. MEETING: November 9, 2004 in Essen / Germany

Another meeting was at November 9, 2004 in my hometown Essen again. VT-friend Gili_S from Helsinki / Finland came over to spent me a visit...

We had breakfast at Cafe Solo first and then we visited the Synagoge in Essen and explored the "Margarethenhöhe" in Essen. Finally we had a Weizen at "Hülsmannshof" in the same area.

One meeting was at November 19, 2004 in Cologne. VT-friend Niksa from Zagreb came over for a weekend to explore our region. And sabsi did a great job arranging a meeting and being a tourguide for Niksa...

We met for dinner and a few drinks at Früh Brewery, where I met besides Niksa and Sabsi the "usual suspects" Gil and Holger as well as Stef and Edgar.. It was a fantastic meeting again and thanks for all the presents our visitors from abroad brought..... The chocolate from Croatia was unbelievable great and Gil kept supplies coming for Salmiaki from Finland :-)

13. MEETING December 28, 2004 Berlin / Germany

This meeting was in Berlin. Although I knew at short notice that I will go to Berlin, I have been glad that some people had announced themselves in the forum on my question for a meeting.

And thus I have met in this Tuesday evening with Birgit (bijo69) in a nice restaurant (Mirchi - Singapore Cuisine). Unfortunately the others which also wanted to come had to call off. Anyway, we have spent a very nice evening there and have talked extremely well (of course about traveling). Thanks again for the nice company Birgit :-)

14. MEETING May 7, 2005 Germany: Essen + Duisburg

... and friends of Niksa from Zagreb aswell!

VT-friend Niksa and his friends from Zagreb came over for a long weekend to explore the industrial culture in our region - "Industriekultur Ruhr". I am always happy when people are interested in our regional culture. So this was reason for me to guide them around in Essen one afternoon.

And one day they have planned a nighttour through the "Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord". I decided to join them on this tour as I only visited this place on daytime before. Luckily I could shortly found out that there was a guided tour with torches through this area today. This made the tour really special :-) FANTASTIC... I enjoyed the pleasant company of Niksa and his friends very much... and it didn't rain during the tour!

15.- MEETING - Germany: Düsseldorf -

This meeting was at 2nd of Ocotber 2005 in D?sseldorf. VT-friend Imaniac from the Netherlands came over for a StarTrek Convention in the Ruhr Area. So we decided to have a VT Dinner with the usual suspects in the Old Town of D?sseldorf again...

As many times before I enjoyed the pleasant company of all who joined!

16.- MEETING - Germany: Frankfurt am Main -

My last meeting was at 15th of December 2005 in FFM. It was my plan (with a good friend) to join a concert of Bucovina Club feat. Gogol Bordello (also known from the new film score of "Everything is Illuminated") at the Schauspiel Frankfurt. VT-friend RhineRoll from St. Augustin decided to join us... and that was a very good decision: the party and music was marvellous, we danced the whole night and had a lot of fun :-)
