Ippokratous Square

Once you arrived outside the walls of the old town, you are in dilemma. Which gate to choose.
Eleven Gates invite you to visit the old town.
The Gate-Pyli of the harbour , the most famous and the most impressive.Separates the small harbour of Sahtouri coast from the commercial port and dates from 1478.
Once you got in the town, you will see on your left, Ippokratous Square. This is the starting point of Sokratous Street, a commercial street.

Gate of the Museum , located near the Harbour Gate. Looking across the gate, you will see Apellou Street where is situated the Archeological Museum, housed in the building of the Knights Hospital.On the left is the church of Our Lady of the Castle . Just across the church, starts the Knights' Street which leads to the Grand Master's Palace.

Arnaldou Gate , a small gate next to the Museum Gate.
Tarsana Gate , you can drive your car till Symis Square where you will find a small parking.The Old Gallery Museum is there.
Gate d' Amboise located north-west of the Old Town. The gate has view to Dimokratias Avenue and to Eleftheriou Venizelou street. The gate leads to street with the painters, Orfeos Street . It is the closest gate to the Grand Master's Palace.
Gate Eleftherias (freedom) , has view to Mandraki. It was built in 1924 by the Italians.

Gate(Pyli) Ayiou Athanassiou . The gate closer to the Mosque, the Turkish bath, the Muslim Library.
Pyli Akandias closer to the Jewish Quarter.

Sea-horses fountain

Gate Ayiou Ioanni to the south part of the Old Town.
Gate Ayias Ekaterinis close to the commercial harbour.
Gate of Our Lady (Panagias) . On the right part of the gate is situated The Square of the Jewish Martyrs with the famous Sea-horses fountain
