I'm in the process of consolidating my travelogues to make space for more photos.

Held in mid-September to mark the start of the grape harvest, the festival lasts for two weeks. The festival centres on the three best known symbols of the city, Sherry wine, Horses and Flamenco.

We flew out to Jerez as the start and end point of our brief tour of central Spain in September 2004, and naturally we timed our trip to coincide with the autumn festival. Many changes this year, no doubt brought about because the main square, Plaza del Arenal, had been completely dug up to build an underground carpark. Other streets nearby were also building sites, so the flamenco had moved to Plaza del Banco, and the street theatre was taking place in and around Larga and Dona Blanca.

The festival includes flamenco and street theatre, medieval fairs, and culminates with a carnival procession through the centre.

Loved your pages. And the pics! We live in Lanzarote but like visiting mainland Spain. Am looking to go in June, pity the hotel your recommended is full! Anywhere else you'd recommend?

I think my Jerez page will never be as good as yours as I live so near but rarely go or never take my camera! Nor do I do any of the best tourist activities due to my local status!!! ;)

The Feria looks like fabulous fun and I can never have enough Spanish food, looks like there is more of Spain for me to explore :-)
