What can I say? But I can sing "I left my heart in San Francisco". We absolutely loved San Francisco--from the cable car ride to Fisherman's Wharf (of course we had chowder in a sourdough bowl). We took the ferry to elegant Sausalito with all its quaint shops and restaurants. Enjoyed spectacular views of Golden Gate and the Bay Bridge. And went down "the crookedest street in the world" Lombard Street---TWICE. All in all it was an amazing experience. |
| | Fisherman's Wharf Fisherman's Wharf is a very exciting part of San Francisco. We arrived there by cable car which originated on Powell Street and wound its way down to the wharf. |
| | Processing the Crab Meat This was an interesting sight to see as the workers had a ritual of tapping their knives on the metal surface in a rythmic motion as they processed the crabs. |
| | This was a box full of Crabs waiting to be processed. |

MalenaN Sat Feb 21, 2009 06:59 UTC In 1990 I and a few friends travelled on Highway 1 from San Fancisco to LA, and I especially remember the beauty at Big Sur. Sounds like your visit to California was great! | Kuznetsov_Sergey Tue Mar 11, 2008 16:39 UTC Excellent page among 5-top pages on such a popular on VT destination! Yes, I quite agree, California is a must! If I ever appear in the USA I'll try to get there. Thanks Lori for the virtual tour! Golden Bridge would still waiting for me... | traveldave Wed Jul 18, 2007 21:28 UTC Despite its well-publicized problems, California is still a great state with lots to see and do. And I lived in the state for three years. | sarahreynold Sun Apr 1, 2007 09:30 UTC Lovely photos, glad to see something different. |
