Saddleback/Fairview Mountain This day hike gives you breathtaking views of Banff Park and Lake Louise. It is a moderate to challenging hike, so it's not recommended for kids or for people who have less than a moderate level of fitness. The trail begins behind the canoe house on Lake Louise and is clearly signed.
There's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears up the final leg of Fairview Mountain, but you'll see , it's worth every drop!! The trail up Fairview Mountain is the highest in the Canadian Rockies. |
| | Believe it or not, this is world-famous Lake Louise, from a bird's perspective... |
| | Glacier-capped Mt. Temple |
| | Making our way up the trail on Fairview Mountain. At this point, it's about 1/2 a km to the summit. |
| | This is part of Victoria Glacier, and Mt. Victoria, which feeds Lake Louise |
| | This mountain is shaped like a saddle, as you can see -- you can make out the trail just at the base. That area is the "Saddleback" |
| Looking up the Icefields Parkway |
| | Just part of the stunning 360 degree view |
