Are'nt wedding couples nice to watch????

Well, that is "the whole lot", i.e. both families:

Ready for transfer to the restaurant. This picture has been taken in front of the church and shows a very lovely old Lower Saxony Style house in a typical village road in Bissendorf in the background.

On arrival at the hotel/restaurant Menges Hof in Burgwedel, more pics were taken in the rose garden of the hotel, where they had the official reception for all the guests (66) outside. And of course, one (of the many) "official" kisses ;-)

At this reception guests congratulated and/or handed over their present to the freshly married couple. In former times, these presents were mostly something for the young household to start with - but nowadays, couples often live together for quite some time already and their household is complete. Therefore poeple often decide to give them money presents, to enable the couple to buy anything they might need when the time comes up. To make these presents more romantic, the money is packed very nicely in many different more or less creative ways.

Wow, what bright colours. "Ladies and Gentlemen" all nicely dressed up!

Inside the "ball room"/restaurant, we had everything nicely decorated for the young couple and this is when the "spectacle" started. Speeches, buffet supper, a lot of dancing inspired by a great band called "Hobbits" and with all sorts of games. Well, this went on until very late at night or better said until very early next morning!
A wonderful event for all of us!
