The Bride and her "dream" dress (fitting) First thing to do for daughter and mum was to find and buy the "dream dress of daughter's live". Well, we both loved surching for this "alike-Sleeping Beauty-dress". So exiting!
And that was the outcome. As the husband in spe was not allowed to see a glanze of the dress before the "big day", mum had to take pics during first fitting at home so that daughter could have a look at the dress whenever she felt like it. |
| | Bride Maids are Waiting for the Bride to arrive Well, same in most countries, I suppose this day is one of the most important in ones live. Becoming princess and prince for just one day is wonderful! :-) and if the weather is fine, too (here in Germany very important ;-) this is "heaven".
Though in the morning we had horrible rainy weather when the "big day" came up, it became sunny and warm in the afternoon when the wedding in church actually took place. What a relief!
The 3 bride maids were waiting for the bride car to arrive outside the church ready to help her out off the car etc. They were a lovely sight indeed when parents and daughter reached church!! |
The Groom waiting in front of old village Church That's the groom waiting for his bride ( at the decorated entrance of the very lovely old church at Bissendorf/Wedemark). Later, just before her arrival, he went inside to wait in front of the altar. Contraire to other countries, this is not very common in Germany, yet. Some pastors here do not agree to this at all. In the past, bride and groom always went together into church with guests following, (contraire here: groom and guests already waiting inside and bride being led by her father!) But this habbit gets practised more often! | | | The Groom in front of old Church |

| Inside of decorated Church at Bissendorf/Wedemark |
| | Inside of Old Church at Bissendorf/Wedemark That's how the church was decorated inside - waiting for guests, groom and as last one, the bride to arrive. Decorating other than the altar, is something, too, which is slowly becoming popular. |
Finally! Bride and Proud Father "marching" in Whilst the groom and guests were desparetly waiting inside, the bride was finally led by her father into church and "handed over" to the groom. What emotional moments! | | |

| | Married Couple after the Ceremony in Church Well, now they are married by answering, "Yes, with the help of God".
What a happy couple after a lovely ceremony with nice gosple music and easy going, happy atmosphere. |
Congratulations from Everybody after Ceremony In front of the church after the ceremony, everybody of course congratulated the "just married couple".
From left to right: Dominique, myself, my hubby, the groom and some of our friends. | | | Congratulations in Front of Church |

| Sawing a Trunk after wedding ceremony |
| | Bride and Groom have to saw a Trunk and ... One habbit supposed to make the young couple prove how well they can work "hand in hand" is sawing a trunk.
Another habbit: Holding a clothes line with baby clothes, which the couple has to pick off this line. Meaning? Well, I suppose the wish for them is: lots of healthy babies ..... ;-) |
